Jake was born and raised here and has been in training since he was 2. He was started by Cory Shelman's ranch as a 2 year old and we put him in their sale, with a decent "reserve" price on him; if he didn't sell, we were keeping him. We opted to keep him and not sell!

While in the Shelman sale, Bobby Ingersoll was asked to critque the sale horses both in hand (halter) and in a trail course. I got a video of both and was proud of how well our 2 year old home-grown colt did. Another reason to not sell him! If you would like to see the videos, click the links below:

Jake next went into training with Karen Jackson-Simmons, who did an excellent job with him. We had thoughts of putting him in the local Stock Horse Futurities but opted to pull him in July, 2 months before the Futurities, to let him grow up some more and just be a horse. We brought him home and began trail riding him a couple times a week and he has shown he loves to go!
